FlowDrya continuous drying plants are manufactured by STRONGA LTD, engineered to order in the UK. The FlowDrya line has been in production since 2012, and every unit is custom-configured for the customer's material, heat source and site.
FlowDrya dries a wide range of wet materials – including wood chip, digestate fibre, SRF, RDF, paper pulp and other biomass and waste streams – on a hydraulically-powered, PulseWave™-agitated moving floor, with an expected operational lifespan in excess of 30 years.
How the FlowDrya Drying Process Works
Wet material is loaded into a high-capacity in-feed hopper sized to the project, then fed onto the perforated PulseWave™ drying bed via hydraulic, stop-start moving-floor equipment. The Heatex air handling unit delivers drying-quality air from the client's heat source, warming the insulated sub-floor plenum so heat conducts directly into the material while warm air rises through the ventilated floor. Saturated exhaust air is released via flue ducting or recovered, small fines fall through the drying deck and are automatically collected by a sub-floor auger, and the uniformly dry material discharges from the end of the bed into bunkers or onward conveying equipment.

FlowDrya is engineered for a very wide range of wet materials – wood chip and other woody biomass, separated digestate fibre from AD plants, SRF, RDF and other waste-derived fuels, paper pulp, chopped forage such as grass, lucerne, alfalfa and hemp, poultry manure, insect frass, compost and organic fraction waste. Each system is custom-designed around the material's particle size, bulk density and moisture requirement. Drying air can be supplied from residual process heat – CHP, cement kilns, AD biogas plants, biomass boiler hot water or steam – or from direct fuel sources such as LPG, diesel or gas-fired burners, giving each installation the flexibility to use whatever heat source is available on site.

Every FlowDrya is fully assembled and factory-tested at Stronga's works before being disassembled for shipping; on-site installation is typically completed within days, followed by a commissioning process covering operator training, start-up and shut-down procedures and a full 'hot test'.
