Dry, uniform chip burns cleaner and hotter in biomass boilers, combined-heat-and-power units and district-energy plants, and a low, even moisture is what lets a producer meet the woodchip classes of EN ISO 17225-4. Whether the feed is virgin forestry residue, sawmill chip or arboricultural arisings, FlowDrya's moving-floor bed and PulseWave agitation tumble the material so it dries evenly instead of sitting wet in a static heap, while sub-deck screening lifts out fines and grit during the drying pass.

Regulatory context

Yes. Every FlowDrya is engineered and assembled at STRONGA's Hertfordshire factory, factory-tested, then shipped and commissioned on the customer's site with operator training before handover.
What moisture standard should dried wood chip meet?
Woodchip for combustion is classified under EN ISO 17225-4. A stable low moisture keeps a batch within its declared class, which is what boiler operators and fuel buyers require for predictable output.
Do you have a US wood chip installation?
Not yet, and we will not imply one. Our documented woodchip, bark and digestate lines are in Britain, all running the same FlowDrya moving-floor technology a US project would use.
Which sectors buy dried wood chip domestically?
District-energy schemes, commercial and institutional biomass boilers, poultry and greenhouse heating, and pellet mills all favour a high-energy chip that ignites readily and stores without composting or fungal spoilage.
