FlowDrya poultry-manure dryers are engineered to order at STRONGA's Hertfordshire works and supplied to New Zealand poultry producers, though no FlowDrya manure line is yet commissioned locally. Raw litter and manure are wet, odorous and awkward to store or spread, and tightening freshwater and nutrient-management expectations make uncontrolled land spreading harder. Drying manure to a low, even moisture stabilises it, cuts odour and pathogen activity, and concentrates its nitrogen, phosphate and potash into a transportable fertiliser. Sold as a soil product it is measured against the national composts, soil conditioners and mulches specification, and a dried, graded material is far easier to place with growers than a wet, variable one.

Regulatory context
Disposal is priced through the waste disposal levy set under the Waste Minimisation Act 2008 and administered by the Ministry for the Environment; the levy on municipal (class 1) landfill is NZD 65 per tonne from 1 July 2025, rising to NZD 70 per tonne on 1 July 2026 and NZD 75 per tonne on 1 July 2027, and has been expanded across more landfill classes — the principal lever pushing wet residues toward recovery, drying and reuse rather than burial.
